Christmas Decorations 2020

christmas decoration ideas

Christmas is around the corner! I love Christmas time because it reminds us of the grace of God. I have so much fun decorating my house to make it feel peaceful and for it to radiate joy and goodness. My top three stores for decorations are Hobby Lobby, Target, and TJ Maxx!

THE STOCKINGS

I opt for a bright and neutral color for our Christmas stockings because my fireplace is a darker gray. These brighten up the area and Target always has such nice Hearth & Hand Christmas stockings. Mine are from last year, but they always have cute new designs every year! They have Hearth & Hand Stockings on Amazon, too. The stocking holders I have are super heavy duty. They can HOLD, I tell ya. The color I have is matte pewter which looks like it’s sold out at Target, but I see that they have it on Amazon.

I found this cute little stocking here at Hobby Lobby unintentionally. I went here with my friend because she was looking for Thanksgiving table decorations. I saw this and was like AW SO CUTE. We have a pet bunny rabbit so I thought this was so perfect for her. This is actually utensil holders for a Christmas table setting, haha but OH so perfect for a pet Christmas stocking.

MANTLE

Target has the best items in their dollar spot section. I have accumulated a few things from there, but mostly it’s their Christmas trees! They always have different designs every year. I have them all throughout my living room and dining room, haha. My favorite one so far has been the ceramic ones! I can’t believe they were only $3!

I put more on the other side of the TV because I just love them! I found this Rae Dunn JOY Candle from TJ Maxx and it smells so heavenly. I love how they named it Joy because that’s what I get from smelling it. The scent is Winter Pine and it just smells so good.

Having the TV on the mantle means that the cords would be all over the place. This is sooooo the case for this, so this burlap garland is such a perfect piece to hide them. I use this for Thanksgiving and Christmas, but honestly I have left this on there all year this year. I found the garland at Hobby Lobby.

SITTING AREA

I think since last year, Hobby Lobby started carrying Rae Dunn items. I loveeeeeee their throw pillows, omgosh! I got two of these joy ones and I have switched them from our mudroom seating to our couch. I love, love it. I was never a Rae Dunn fan and didn’t care for it. I started with the mugs and I was like Okay, maybe I do like it lolol. The middle throw pillow was also from Hobby Lobby

The Christmas tree again, haha. Anyway, I don’t go overboard with my decorations and just add a bit here and there. This Blessed candle is also Rae Dunn and it smells like Vanilla. I don’t light this ever because the scent is strong enough from the jar. I prefer the Winter Pine!

We love bunnies, did I tell you yet? I put these rabbit decor for Spring but since we love bunnies so much, I just kept it there and turned into a snow bunny with the baby Christmas trees.

COFFEE TABLE

Funny story, I had these coasters set outside the little white tray to start. I hosted Thanksgiving and one of my guests placed it inside the tray. When I saw this, I was like, “Ooooooh, this is so much cuter!” I didn’t even realize it fit in there. I love it here!

The coasters come in a set of four and each has a different word. Joy, Merry, Cheer, and Peace! Have you ever wondered why Christmas time always say these words? There is an origin to this! This is the whole point of life. Be merry and lively, have peace in your mind, joy in your heart, and praise the Lord your God. That is the definition of cheer- shout with praise! It’s easy to say these words, but difficult to maintain a life with its very message. Although, very important to practice it.

UNDER THE TREE

I found this countdown by mistake. A mistake because I didn’t want to buy it. LOL! I wasn’t even looking for it, but when I was strolling mindlessly at Hobby Lobby. This was staring at me in the face. We don’t put presents until Christmas Eve because when our kids were little, they would open it or rip it so it became a tradition that a whole bunch of presents just show up on Christmas morning. Because of that, it looks empty underneath the tree.

A couple of years ago, I started putting these burlap Christmas baskets under there because the kids would get Christmas presents from their school store for all of us. This Christmas countdown is perfect for this because it gets them super excited to see how many days left until it’s Christmas time. If you can’t find this at your local store, I found a similar Wooden Christmas countdown at amazon!
