Hi, makeup lovers! I’m here again with another review in the beauty department. It’s the holidays, so I am renewing my foundation and concealer. I always do this yearly because, ew old foundation. I renew my liquid lipsticks and whatever else that has a twelve month shelf life. I have a sensitive and acne prone skin… so yeah, let’s not gamble with FACE products lol. For the remaining of this year and the next, I chose the Shiseido foundation and concealer. Let’s talk about these two products!

FOUNDATION + CONCEALER
I chose this brand because they’re known for their skincare so I figured their foundation and concealer should be good, too. I also saw a lot of asian people say that they love the color selection and I literally watched so many videos whose languages I can’t understand, but wanted to see how it looked on them!
I chose the color 340 Oak for it’s olive undertone for medium skintone. For the concealer, I chose the color 301 medium with golden undertones, I believe.
I love that the Shiseido Synchro Skin Self-Refreshing Foundation already has SPF30 in it so I don’t have to worry if I forget to apply my sunscreen beforehand. The bottle has a twist off cap, so you open it by twisting the foundation cap to the right and then pump. To close it, just simply twist it back. The foundation is medium coverage and I think it is buildable. I personally love medium coverage instead of full coverage, so I haven’t really tried that. Don’t forget to shake the bottle before you use it. The formula is just perfect, it’s not thick and it is not too liquidy. It is a natural finish foundation.
The Shiseido Skin Self-Refreshing Concealer is so cute. The bottle looks so small, but it is not even that small quantity compared to other concealers. For example, the previous one I owned was Charlotte Tilbury concealer and that cost $32 at just 0.13 oz/4mL. This one by Shiseido is $31 at 0.19oz/5.8mL. Don’t let the bottle or tube fool you! I love how slim and sleek these products are. This concealer can fit in my lipstick holder! The concealer is a natural finish which is just my jam.
These are swatches of the foundation and the concealer. As you can see, it is olive toned and warm toned!
ON THE FACE
This is the foundation and concealer applied. It matches my skintone so well. At first, when I swatched it on the arm and on my face… I was like, “OH GOSH, it’s too olive!” Haha, but when I buffed it in, it sheered itself out and matched my skin perfectly. The foundation and the concealer did not color correct my dark blemishes underneath my nose. You can see them peeking out still.
I knew that about my skin, so I didn’t really expect it to cover my dark af blemishes. I’ve already owned the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Vanish Color Corrector in Medium which is the peach shade. It covers blemishes so well.
WATCH THE VIDEO!
So far, I really like this foundation and concealer. I am hoping and praying that this does not break me out in the long run. I loooooooove the feel of this foundation. It is so lightweight and it’s not a heavy makeup look at all on the face, at least in my opinion! I really don’t like feeling makeup on my face. Ewh! In the video above, I share a wear test of the foundation and concealer for two days. At the end of the day, I had some oiliness in my t-zone but the overall foundation looked great. I will come back here later and do a check in of the foundation! Thanks so much for stopping by, and I’ll see you on my next post!
*UPDATE 10/21/2020: After almost a week of trying out this foundation, it sadly broke me out. Sadly, I had to return it. BOO! If you don’t have sensitive skin like I do, this may work out for you because it truly does last amazingly!!!
