Mudroom Decorating Ideas

NEED SOME ORGANIZATION IDEAS FOR YOUR MUDROOM? YOU’VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE! I’M SHARING SOME IKEA FURNITURES PLUS SOME EASY AND AFFORDABLE HACKS FOR YOUR DREAM MUDROOM. THIS POST ALSO CONTAINS SOME AFFILIATE LINKS DUE TO MY PARTNERSHIPS WITH A COUPLE SMALL SHOPS!

One of the most helpful rooms in our house is the mudroom. Helpful in a sense that it limits the messy shoes that ends up in the house to be contained in this room. We live in Washington, so the mudroom term is exact for this purpose. It rains a lot here and soon comes the Spring season so you know what that means! More yuck muck mud! It snowed a few days ago and since the kids love to play in the snow, I no longer fret about any of my kids tracking crazy snow in the house. This mudroom is part of the house, but it isn’t part of the house that it drives me insane to care that much about mud or snow. Read more to see how we organized this area!

PAX WARDROBE

The PAX wardrobe system is probably one of my favorite items from Ikea because of how much you can customize them. We saw a pretty awesome display there that looked somewhat like this, but we added a little bit here and there. I love how one simple wardrobe can organize so much! We are not actually done organizing everything, but I wanted to share our update! The clothes rail is a must to organize the kids extra jackets and snow jackets as well as their life vests for swimming. They have more sweaters in their own closet, but I love how I can separate the super thick jackets in this closet! There is a shelf on top of the pull-out basket that I use to store random things at the moment, but eventually I would love to get more storage boxes to organize a bit better! The basket is used to organize the kids beanies, hats, and gloves.

KOMPLEMENT PULL OUT shoe SHELF

Having multiple children can cause chaos and a lot of mess in the shoe area, so these are pretty awesome! We have three pull-out shoe shelves for each of the kids. The top belongs to Keilani, the middle is Ezekiel’s, and the bottom is for Mileina. These are also great for extra shoes and boots that aren’t used for the current season. Each of the shelves is two tiered, the bottom tier is great for boots because the height of the boots can go above the top tier. If you see closely, the top tier shelf is further back.

SHELF ORGANIZATION SYSTEM

We have two of those PAX wardrobes on each side, therefore in between those two would be our bench and coat rack. We have three pieces of these awesome and affordable coat racks that cost $9.99 each! We found these by mistake when we saw that the ones we originally wanted had only one left in stock, but in the end it worked out so well because it matched the look in this room so perfectly. These has five hooks per piece so we could have three hooks each! As you can see in the picture above, it’s fun to put our little purses on it! The wall shelves on the top of these coat racks are used to hold our storage boxes for extra items such as everyone’s scarves, swimming goggles, picnic mats, and honestly I forgot what else because we aren’t done organizing. These organization boxes can be found anywhere because they’re fold up boxes. I found mine from Walmart at $2.99 each!

BENCH AND SHOE STORAGE

Do we have a lot of shoes? Hahaha. Anyway, these shoe benches and storage are essential for the shoes that you regularly wear so you could easily put them on and take them off. Eventually I want to put some bench pillows on top of it, but I don’t even know where to find them. By the way, these benches are so easy to put together because if I can do it, you can, too!

Organization Box For House Slippers

On the far right side of the PAX wardrobe is a tiny little spot on these stairs to store a storage box for the house slippers! Our first floor of the house does not have any carpet besides the bedrooms so it gets pretty darn cold. The kids doesn’t seem to mind that much, but maybe it’s because I’m getting old that the cold gets to me now. If you have a Ross stores near you, you can find some pretty affordable ones. This one that you see is one of three sold as a set for $6.99! At IKEA, they do sell some house slippers at a really great price. Can you believe these are $1.99 each? They have three colors available in grey, black, and red. To make it easy for our family members and friends, we chose grey for the S/M size feet and the color black for the L/XL size. I’m pretty sure there’s Seahawks slippers in there because I see lime green.

Happy Mama In The House!

It makes me so happy and filled with joy and accomplishment to establish some organization in this house! Woot woot! I don’t know what it is, but random shoes everywhere has always bothered me. I mean, we’ve been married for twelve years now and its the first time we’ve got some REAL organization going, haha! This mudroom was such a surprise when we were looking for a house. We didn’t expect to ever live in a house that would ever have a mudroom like this. It was a very long time before we actually really settled, and now that the time is here… I know that it was part of a grand plan. God is so good, and we always give Him the thanks for everything. Like many surprises and blessings like this mudroom, there are many more I would love to share. That would be in another post though, but before I go, I wanted to share this beautiful and fun hoodie from Evy’s Tree! You know I am all about beauty and comfort, and this piece is called the Anne Marie in Ocean! Isn’t this such a fun piece for spring with the beautiful blue and yellow? The Anne Marie is so cute because it has double zippers! Like you see here, I love wearing it this way by moving the bottom zipper up to my chest area to show off my dress a little bit. Oh, and don’t forget to use this special code: ANNEMARIE10LH for $10 off! I love, love wearing the Anne Marie hoodies whenever I wear my dresses because it gives such a relaxed feminine look, you know what I mean? I am simply wearing a striped black and white dress underneath. Also of course, as basic as moms can be, I am also wearing leggings! If it’s still a little chilly which is so true where I am, add a little bit of extra by wearing a lightweight scarf. This one is in the color Pebble by Bebe Au Lait and it is actually a nursing scarf, can we say multi-use, you multitasking supermoms?! Alright mamas, that’s all for today! Thank you so much for visiting my blog and until next time!

I wish we had a little bit bigger space for a mudroom. Right now, it doubles as our laundry room so things can get a little crowded. But I love what you’ve done to make everything so organized!
