The Cabin Life At The KOA Holiday in Cascade Locks, OR

Cascade Locks Oregon east portland KOA Holiday
As a child, I didn’t really have too many chances to go on family trips and I think this is why I have certainly made this a goal in my own family life. Whether it’s a short trip during the weekend or a week long road trip, I cherish each moment because time really does move quickly and before I will know it… my children will be teenagers or moving out of our home! Yikes, let’s not think about that yet. For now, I want to share the little children phase for as long as I can! This was our first time staying at a KOA cabin and my first thought was… How cute is this cabin? My children and I quickly ran up to the porch and ooh and ahh-ed at the porch swing. I have always wanted one for my own porch, but this was a nice little experience for the weekend. That’s what’s really awesome about experiencing new adventures… we get a little taste of what we dream of. I have partnered with KOA to show you what’s expected and what you need to bring when you stay at the Cascade Locks KOA Holiday cabin!

I love how it’s covered so whether the weather is rain or shine, you definitely could enjoy the fresh air out here on the porch. Right across from the swing is the barbecue grill where you can grill up some mean hamburger patties!

Cascade Locks Oregon east portland KOA HolidayOn the left side of the cabin is a futon that can be transformed into a bed for bedtime. Technically, when I reserved this spot, it described as only for four people total. Since my kids are still small, we made this work so easily. It’s nothing different than staying overnight in another place. They always share a bed and the full size works great! Is any of your kids a mediator? Haha, my oldest always sleeps in the middle to make sure her little siblings doesn’t play around all night! There isn’t a microwave in here, but there is a refrigerator to keep all your marinated meat, drinks, fruits, and vegetables nice and chilled. It’s time to put your barbecuing skills to the test here because the grill outside on the porch is waiting for you! By the way, I’m seriously craving a steak right now. Yum!

The cabin has hardwood floors throughout and it is nice to go in and out without worrying about taking off your shoes. If you have little kids that like to play on the floor, bring your own play mat. The one that I brought is the Bebe Au Lait Play Mat and it is very soft and has a nice cushion to protect them from the floor. This is especially handy for babies as well who wants to get in some tummy time!

I brought two fitted sheets, my kids favorite blankets, super cute towels, and if you’re anything like me… lots of pillows! I just can’t sleep overnight anywhere else without my pillow so it’s actually really perfect for me that I had to bring our own. By the way, take a look at how the size of this futon fit all three of my kids.

Cascade Locks Oregon east portland KOA HolidayThis is full bathroom with a sink, toilet, and a stand up shower. I really liked showering in here, it’s definitely a lot bigger than my travel trailer shower! It’s also nice to able to take my time in the shower. I need the hot, relaxing, long shower! #momlife

Cascade Locks Oregon east portland KOA HolidayThere is also a full size bed in the cabin and it can easily fit two adults! I brought my big fluffy comforter and a few pillows. There’s way more pillows not pictured! Did I tell you I love my pillows?

Cascade Locks Oregon east portland KOA HolidayThere is a dining table area and a TV as well. We didn’t really watch TV that much since we were mostly outside doing activities, but it’s pretty nice to have the option, right?

Cascade Locks Oregon east portland KOA HolidayA good day at the cabin begins with a sunrise and ends with a smile! How true is this quote? We enjoyed our weekend at the KOA so much. I am already missing it! My kids are going to be such campers this Summer. I love that they love being in the outdoors and just enjoying nature. I can’t wait to go again! I was born and raised in Portland, and I had NO IDEA that there was a KOA with cabins so close to town!

Can’t wait to check them out the next time that I’m back home!

I love that cabin! I’ve been pushing a lot of road trips lately. I want to go on more before the baby gets here.
