With the change in weather, the kids have been getting sick with a cold or a cough. It’s been hard and I thought after breakfast we would do a little baking. Today, the kids and I decided to make cakesicles! We usually don’t do this in the morning but it was really fun. The kids helped me measure, pour ingredients, and sprinkle some fun on the cakes.
I do wish the cakesicles were thicker so there’s more cake instead of an even ratio of cake and frosting, but that’s probably just me. The most important thing is the kids loved it! I asked the kids what color they would like and KC chose pink for the frosting and Ez chose green!
During the batter making process, ez was in charge of pouring the milk. Of course being a kid and a boy he dumped the thing like it was bath water, haha. It splattered on MiMi and poor thing was so itchy in a matter of minutes. Nothing like a good allergy medicine can’t fix though!
Anyway, there was a lot more cake than the ones in the pictures show but we ate some of it during the cakesicling process 🙂 overall, this morning was a good morning and I think we should bake in the morning more often. They get so happy to be a part of something and it makes them feel very proud of what they have achieved. I can’t wait till they’re older so they can help me cook dinner!
