Spooner Farms 2016

Picture

Last month we went to a pumpkin patch nearby called the Spooner Farm. We went once before a while back when Keilani was a year old and I was pregnant with Ezekiel. I believe it was in the year 2010! Wow, how fast does the time fly? It’s almost seven years later and I can’t believe how much our family has grown. She has two younger siblings and they’re all beyond the baby stage! It’s bittersweet looking back, but it’s also a blessing to see how much we have grown as a family.

Spooner farms used to be a laid back pumpkin patch back then, now we have found out it is much MORE popular than it used to be. I think in a way, it is a little too popular. It kind of reminded me of a theme park that is not a theme park if that makes sense. Anything we do, we had to wait in line… Even just taking a simple picture. It took me about an hour to get through the entrance. In the picture above, you can see cars just waiting in line to enter the parking lot. I’m not sure if this is the norm for Spooner Farms now, but I’m wondering if it was because it was a sunny day. Here in Washington during this season, a sunny day is seldom to come by.

This area here is the corn maze. It is HUGE and they were also roasting the corn on the grill there, it smelled so delicious! I wasn’t even hungry but that totally got my stomach growling. There were other little things that the kids could do such as play in the play area in the corner of the patch as well. We actually didn’t even go there or go inside the corn maze because EVERYTHING had a cost…. Bummer. Haha. We didn’t get a chance to stay there long anyway because it was just too crowded to do anything.

The upside to the whole outing was that we got a chance to spend time with the famiy and take Ezekiel and Mimi to a pumpkin patch that we used to go to. YES, it is different now, but I’m glad we actually got to go and seen the change. We probably won’t ever go here anymore I can imagine it would get more crowded as the years go by? Haha, unless we go at like 8AM in the morning. Looking at these pictures, I feel like a toddler carrier would have been SO much easier to use than a stroller. I seriously need one for these purposes and future family outdoor trips.

Does anyone feel me that when you go to family trips… It is SO, SO, SO fun but it’s SO, SO, SO stressful as well. Well, I mean, it’s stressful for the parents because we are the ones who get the family there and back, we are the ones who make plans, we make sure the kids and ourselves eat, EVERYTHING. Yes, it is soooooo stressful, but oh my goodness, it is worth it. I love just being able to make memories for the children for them to look back on. I love having these pictures forever imprinted in our hearts. It’s going to always be there, ALWAYS. I just feel so amazed that life is this amazing. There is always going to be quirks and things that may stress us out, but the ending of that specific outing is always good. As you can see in the pictures, our smiles are real, or as you can see, Mimi’s frown is REAL hahaha. Oh, three year olds. They enjoyed this little outing before papa had to go to work.
